Alhaji Abubakar Shehu-Abubakar has been appointed the 11th Emir of Gombe. He replaces Alhaji Shehu Abubakar, who died last week, Punch reports.

This follows from an appointment letter from Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Bage.

Alhaji Shehu Abubakar died on May 27 at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London where he was undergoing treatment for cancer. He wasburied in Gombe on May 30.
